Strawberries are loaded with vitamin C and other essential nutrients, plus they’re low in calories. And although they’re delicious just as they are, it’s fun to do something a little different now and then. Frozen yogurt dipped strawberries are easy to make, taste great and look beautiful too.
You’ll need a cookie sheet or tray that will fit in your freeze and some waxed paper or parchment.
Ingredients:
12 – 16 large strawberries with the stems intact
One cup of your favorite flavored lowfat Greek yogurt
1/2 cup cookie crumbs, graham cracker crumbs, or chocolate sprinkles
Directions:
Cover cookie sheet or tray with waxed paper or parchment. Dip each strawberry into the yogurt to cover about 3/4 of the strawberry, but not all the way up to the stem. Use a spoon to sprinkle the cookie crumbs or sprinkles on the strawberry and place it on the cookie sheet. Repeat with each berry and place the tray in the freezer and freeze over night. Store the yogurt dipped berries in an airtight container in your freezer.
Each berry has about 25- 30 calories.
